Dr. Todd Carver

Biography

Dr. Carver has years of serving military-connected students and families in various roles for DoDEA. Dr. Carver has most recently served as Principal of EA White Elementary, assisting in opening this 21st Century Elementary School in July 2018. During his time as the AP at EA White, Dr. Carver also served as the Digital Learning Task Force Lead for the Southeast District, overseeing the transition of all Southeast schools to a digital learning environment in response to COVID-19. Previously, he served as the Assistant Principal of Faith MS on Ft. Benning. While at Faith MS, Dr. Carver oversaw the opening of the 21st Century open-concept teaching and learning spaces. Prior to arriving at Faith MS, Dr. Carver served as the Educational Technologist Instructional Specialist for the Americas Southeast District.

During his time as the Southeast District ET, Dr. Carver facilitated professional development on 21st Century Teaching and Learning, focusing on transitioning and supporting the district in the opening of 21st Century schools as well as piloting the district wide Project Based Learning program. Prior to his time at the district level, Dr. Carver served as the Educational Technologist at Faith MS here on Ft. Benning. Dr. Carver's DoDEA career began as a high school Computer Science teacher at Zama American High School, Camp Zama Japan. While teaching at Zama American HS, Dr. Carver served in various supporting roles such as the Continuous School Improvement Chair, Far East Activities Coordinator, Future Business Leaders of America Sponsor, School Advisory Council, and Freshman Class Sponsor.

Dr. Carver earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Instructional Technology and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, both from National University in La Jolla CA. In 2012, Dr. Carver earned his Ph.D. in Business and Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University in Prescott Arizona.

Dr. Carver has a strong and personal connection with our military connected families. Prior to joining DoDEA, Dr. Carver served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, retiring honorably after 23 years of service. Dr. Carver and his wife Kellie raised their three sons overseas where all three grew up attending DoDEA schools, with their oldest son graduating from a DoDEA high school. They are extremely proud to point out that their sons carry on the tradition of service to country as all three currently serve on active duty in the United States Marine Corps.

Dr. Carver has been a DoDEA parent, a volunteer at schools, a DoDEA educator, and intimately involved in all aspects of educating our military connected students. He and his wife Kellie are proud of their military service and their continued commitment to our military families. Dr. Carver actively seeks to ensure that every single family is involved in the total school program and is provided equitable services.
